I started a vegetarian diet 12 years ago, and I’ve never tried to convince anyone about what or how they should eat — I simply lived my life and witnessed how much my body and my life transformed. I wake up more easily in the mornings, I can perform better in my workouts, and overall I just feel better.
It worked for me — but of course, the decision is always in your hands.
Eating healthy is an exciting adventure.
Somehow, I always imagined myself as a professional athlete, and I was quite upset with my parents that it didn’t happen — after all, my name is Olimpia, so it would have been nice to stand on the top of the podium.
Even though that dream didn’t fully come true, sports still play a big role in my daily life. I used to run regularly, and though I run less now, walking, gym workouts, and daily strolls are all part of my routine.
I started meditating regularly about a year and a half ago. At first, it was Mindfulness meditation that captured me, and later Zen Buddhist meditation.
What does it teach me and why is it good to practice?
It guides me inward, towards inner peace. It helps me find that deep inner strength that I can use not only for myself but also to benefit the community.
Meditation has so many positive effects on our lives: tolerance, compassion, kindness toward others, healthier communication, and stress relief. It leads us toward a calmer, more conscious way of living.
